Yamato plans for the team to train together to learn formations, but Asuma convinces him that since Sora and Naruto do not work best as a team, they should train as individuals. Asuma continues supervising their chakra blade training, telling them to focus their chakra, and notices that Sora, like Naruto, has very powerful chakra. Tsunade and Yamato learn from Chiriku that Sora was inadvertently responsible for an incident in which the Temple of Fire was destroyed. Asuma has lunch with Sora and Naruto, giving Sora a claw made from the same materials as his chakra blades. It is revealed that Sora’s father Kazuma planned to kill the Hokage but Asuma intervened and ended up killing Kazuma. Furido then approaches Sora, telling him that Asuma is responsible for his father’s death and giving him two “king” pieces from a Shogi set to give to Asuma. Danzo mysteriously disappears. Naruto approaches an angry Sora in the training grounds, while Sora refuses to answer his questions, and easily throws a chakra-powered kunai through the tree and additionally destroying the big stone behind it.
